Principal's Message
Dear Lakeland Families,
It is with great joy and deep gratitude that I welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Celia Sanchez, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Lakeland Elementary, home of the Lions. Whether your family is returning or joining us for the first time, I warmly welcome you to what promises to be a wonderful year ahead.
I come to Lakeland with 28 years of experience in public education. I was first hired as a bilingual teacher at Studebaker Elementary and later as the Academic Support TOSA in charge of developing curriculum, providing training and coaching teachers as needed. Most recently, I have served as the summer school TOSA in charge for the past four summers at three different school sites. Throughout my experiences in education, I have learned that the strongest schools are built on a foundation of trust, communication, and collaboration between home and school. As a mother of three teenagers myself, my husband and I understand the importance of having a good partnership with our children’s schools in order for them to be successful. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired.
At Little Lake City School District, we believe in nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated staff here at Lakeland has a history of working tirelessly to create meaningful learning experiences that challenge and empower students to reach their fullest potential. I am proud to lead a team of educators who are not only highly skilled but deeply passionate about making a difference in students’ lives.
Throughout the year, I look forward to getting to know you and your children. Having been a product of this district, I am looking forward to giving back to my community and meeting all the families. There will be many opportunities for us to connect—whether in the morning while greeting students, through school events, volunteer activities, or simply a conversation at dismissal time. Please know that my door is always open, and I welcome your input, questions, and partnership.
As we prepare for a wonderful year ahead, I want to remind you that the first day of school is Monday, August 18th, 2025. School will begin promptly at 8:15 AM, I look forward to meeting all of you that morning. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Together, we can make this school year one of growth, joy, and success for every student.
